As president and senior principal engineer at HT Engineering, Brian Cooper leads our team of dedicated professionals in providing services that improve the safety, integrity, and efficiency of new and existing energy infrastructure.
Brian has a long history with HT Engineering. While still a student, he served the company as an engineering technician, helping with software development, pipeline leakage surveys, and design calculations. After earning his degree in naval architecture and marine engineering, Brian served for three years as a naval architect on projects for the United States and Royal Australian navies before returning to HT Engineering as a project engineer in 2007. Since then, he has worked closely with the Midwest’s major operators of oil and gas pipelines and facilities as both a project manager and engineer. His extensive experience includes designing new pipelines and facilities, repairs and modifications to existing infrastructure, engineering and supporting hydrostatic tests and nitrogen displacements, developing and implementing integrity management programs, managing in-line inspections, and consulting with operators on regulatory compliance plans and inspections. Brian has published articles in Pipelines International, Pipeline and Gas Journal, and Michigan Oil & Gas News. Today, he pursues the company’s vision for the future by combining his love for people, his desire to build, and his discernment with his commitment to helping pipeline operators deliver energy safely and efficiently.
